Thanksgiving Recap

Hello everyone!

I'm back from my Thanksgiving Day vacation.  We went up to South Dakota for a long weekend.

Wednesday we went over to play with Aunt Karen.  Karen was almost done decorating for Christmas, but I had to add a few finishing touches for her.
While taking a break from decorating, you wouldn't believe what I saw out the window.  There were two horses out there!!  They were so big and fun, thanks for showing them to me!
After our busy afternoon, it was time to cuddle up with cousin Liz for a little nap.  Liz, you make a great pillow :)

Back at grandma's it's time to start getting ready for tomorrow's big feast.
"To the kitchen Kayla, I need to get to work."
I'm sharing some of my recipe ideas with grandma.
Thanksgiving Day morning and I'm back in the kitchen working on those mashed potatoes.
A Thanksgiving Day tradition, watching some football....
...and after I hit a few buttons, not watching football :)

Don't tell mommy, but uncle Brian and I had a sucker.
After dinner (which I was too busy to eat), daddy and I shared a piece of blueberry pie.  Yummy!!
It was family picture time with all of us cousins and grandma and grandpa.

Friday I visited aunt Kathy.  She had her tree up already, so I had to do some inspecting.
That evening, we celebrating cousin Kayla's birthday.  Happy Birthday Kayla!
"Ooohhh, pretty jewelry box Kayla."

I go on vacation and guess what, they put me to work.  At least grandma's vacuum cleaner is a "rider" :)
Me and grandpa fixing stuff -and I can say "stuff" now too!

I had such a great weekend, it was so nice to see everyone again.
Thanks for let me stay with you grandma & grandpa!

Growing Feet, Growing Teeth

Hello everyone!

Last week I grew out of my first pair of walking shoes.  Now I'm wearing my big girl shoes that cousin Kayla bought for me so long ago.

I'm also growing more teeth, man, how many of those things does a little girl need???

Before I go to bed, I like to ready daddy a story.  It comforts him.
When the books are all ready though, it's time to break out the iPod and listen to some tunes!

Here is my new Thanksgiving Day dress, what do you think?

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving,

Kaitlyn

Work and Fun

Now that I'm getting to be a big girl, I have to start doing more chores around the house.  This weekend, it was my turn to sweep the floor.  I guess it's only fair, since I'm the only one here who throws their food on the floor when they're done eating :)
Sometimes I get the broom going the wrong way.
After the floor was clean, mommy and I worked on saying "turkey" for Thanksgiving.

Daddy and I studied the football rules for his game this weekend.  Seems like a lot of rules for a game, what fun is that?
With the floor all clean and the rules mastered, it was time for me to go to bed.  Before that though, I had to brush my teeth.

This weekend, me and mommy and daddy went to the zoo to see the animals.  Since it was kind of cool outside, we just visited the animals that were indoors.
Look, a baby monkey jumping in the tree!
Oh no, a duck on the loose!
A degu, or big hamster as daddy called it.
I love going to the zoo with mommy & daddy, we have such a good time.

Have a great week everybody,
Kaitlyn

Happy 1st Birthday Hudson

I brought home another illness the other day, pink eye.  I had just gotten over an ear infection and was at the Dr's office to getting my second flu shot when Dr. Moore noticed my eye.  Thankfully that only lasted a couple of days.  Pretty soon I'm going to get my own parking spot at the children's clinic!!!

I've added a couple of more words to my arsenal.  Now I can say cat and duck, that puts me at about 10 words -reading this blog, you know that I can type a lot more words than I can say :)

Along with my new words, I have a new fascination -I love the little garbage cans that mommy and daddy have. I carry them all over the house, and sometimes I'll even sit in them.
They're just so much fun!
Kicking back and enjoying my chair.

This weekend was cousin Hudson's first birthday party.  Grandma Mary came to my house and road over to Hudson's party with me and mommy.  Hudson had his own cake, and it looks like he really enjoyed it.

Since I'm a pro at birthday parties now, I had to show Hudson the ropes on how to open presents.  He's a pretty quick study.
Hudson had a blast at his birthday party.
Here I am with Hudson's other cousin, Reilly.  We were born on the same day, only a couple of hours apart!
Thanks for inviting us to the party guys!
