Exploring Around the House

Since I turned 9 months old, we went to have some pictures taken this weekend.  The picture people really know how to treat me like a little princess.  They act like it's their job to make me happy and smile :)

Grandma Mary made me some new PJs, just like the ones that mommy had when she was little like me.

I'm really into exploring now that I'm such a great crawler.  My favorite places to be are where mommy and daddy can't get to me!
Crawling isn't my only new trick, I'm a climber now too!  Daddy thought he put his book in a safe place with me on the floor, but I was able to climb up my diaper box and get right to it!
No pictures of it yet, but sometimes I can stand all by myself!  Maybe next week I'll do it long enough for daddy to get a picture of my newest trick.

After all of this exploring around the house, I was a tired little girl.
Hope everyone has a great week,

I'm 9 Months Old!!

Today I turned nine months old!!  Can you even believe it???  In that short time, I've learned to do so many things.  I've mastered rolling over, sitting up, crawling.  I'm getting pretty good at pulling myself up and standing next to things.  I can even shuffle myself from one end of the couch to the other.  I love to play ball with mommy and daddy, but my favorite thing is to chase that kitty around the house :)
I'm getting bigger too.  I'm over 20 lbs and I'm just over 28" long.

I also love to help mommy get ready for work in the morning.  Sometimes, she even lets me do my hair too!

Grandma Mary came over to visit us this week.  We had a really good time.  We went to lunch, took some naps, and just relaxed around the house.  Thanks so much for the visit grandma!

Hope everyone is do great,

Happy Father's Day

I've had a really busy last couple of days.  On Thursday, me and mommy went to the zoo with Melissa and baby Emmit.  We had such a good time there.
Emmit and I both really like the aquarium.
After the zoo we came home and played toys.
The zoo has so many cool animals, but the best was yet to come.  Mathew brought over his doggies!
"Two puppies!!"
Those puppies were so much fun to play with.  Thanks for stopping by on your way back to Denver guys!

On Friday, we had more visitors.  Aunt Kathy & Uncle Brian came to town with cousins Kayla, Connor, and Adam.
Not only did they visit, but they found some cloths that I "just had to have".  Thanks so much guys.
On Saturday, we went to the lake and the boys went fishing.

Today I helped daddy celebrate his first Father's Day.  We had a really great day.

Ever since I had my tubes put in, I've been a happy little girl.  I'm sleeping through the night and playing hard all day.

What a busy past few days, I need a cookie break!

Successful Surgery

This morning I went to the hospital to have tubes put in my ears.  We had to be at the hospital by 6:15 to get checked in and to make sure I was up for the procedure.
Once we were checked in, I had few a minutes to go play in the play room.  There were some other little kids there too, I hope they are feeling better now.
Pretty soon, the nurse came and got me and it was off to get my tubes put in.  I was so brave, I didn't even cry when they came and got me.  Actually, it was pretty fun riding in the bed down the hallway.  Before I knew it, I was done and back in the room with mommy and daddy.  The nurse said I was such a good girl and didn't fuss at all.

Back in mommy's arms for a drink after the procedure.  I had to stick around the hospital for a bit to make sure that everything was looking good.  It was, so we were headed back home to rest and recover.

I took a nap when we got home, but before you know it I was feeling 100% and started to play like it was any other day.
"Got your nose dad!"

Thanks to everyone who called and wished me luck.  With the tubes in my ears now, hopefully we can say goodbye to those darn ear infections.

Getting Ready for my Tubes

This week I had to go see Dr. Moore for my physical before I go get those tubes put into my ears.  Everything checked out, so it should be a go for Wednesday.  When they weighed me, I tipped the scales at 20 lbs 3 oz.  Now me and daddy have gained the same amount of weight since I was born :)

Remember how last week I said I could climb up the stairs?  Well, maybe I'm not quite ready for that yet.  I did a tumble off of a step at daycare this week and have a nice black-and-blue mark on my forehead now.  If you look close, you can see it in the picture below.
I'm really getting into everything now that I such an expert crawler.

Story time with mommy.

This weekend I was in my first athletic contest!  Daddy ran a 5k and mommy and I did the 1 mile walk.
"Let's go mommy, I want to win!!"

It was really fun.  There were so many people to talk to, some people brought their puppies, and afterwards they gave us cookies and bananas -the two foods I will actually eat!

Talk to you all soon,

Kaitlyn

A Great Weekend

I made my first rummage sale purchase the other day!  It's a little activity table that will help me get use to being on my feet.

My new trick for this week is crawling up the stairs!  With daddy behind me and mommy above me, I crawled all the way up!  I'm really on the go now.

I'm mommy's little helper in the kitchen now.  If she needs a pot, I'm her girl.
I'm not the neatest eater, and I have to take a lot more baths now.

And since I out grew my baby bath tub, daddy got me a princess mat for the bathtub! Now I have so much more room to splash around!

Saturday evening we went down to the lake to try and catch some fish and to enjoy the outdoors.
We didn't catch anything, but it was sure fun.
"It's ok dad, you'll catch something next time."

It was such a nice afternoon out today, that mommy and daddy put up a tent for us to play in.  I'm not sure what was more fun, playing in the tent or watching those two try and put a tent up.  It's a blast to play in there -I'm outside, but I don't have to touch the grass (for those of you who don't know, I'm not a big fan of how grass feels on my skin).

What a great weekend!

Cousin Liz, sorry to hear about your allergy to milk, I can sure relate to that.  Next time I see you, I'll let you try some of my special formula!

Have a great week everybody,

Kaitlyn

Memorial Day Weekend

I was really on the go this past Memorial Day weekend.  We went up to South Dakota and I was on the go nonstop.

Saturday morning, it was time to get out the wagon and go for a ride.
"Hold on mommy, I'll drive!"
It was such a nice day out, that us girls spent some time catching up outside.

Back inside and working hard.  Yep, my pink bucket made the trip to SD too :)
After all of that morning excitement, me and grandpa needed to relax for a bit.

On Sunday, grandma Judy gave me a cookie to share with grandpa.  Thanks for making me cookies grandma, they were the best cookies I've ever had.
I didn't think cookies would be so messy, but grandma had a way to clean me up that was new to me.  Bath time in the kitchen sink!!  You're too funny grandma!

After my "bath", me, mommy, aunt Kathy, Kayla and Adam went to the zoo in Watertown.  It was soooo much fun.

That night, aunt Karen invited us over for supper.  Before we ate, me and Karen had to play a little ball.
After a hard day of working on the farm, John and uncle Bret had a surprise for me.  John showed me a baby calf!
I wasn't real sure what to think of it at first, but after a bit I thought it was pretty cool
After a full day, me and grandma had to snuggle up on the couch.

What a busy weekend.  Thanks everyone for a great weekend!!
