Exploration Weekend

Friday night we went to the Texas Roadhouse for supper.  Mommy figured that would be a good place to take me 'cause it's so loud there nobody would be able to hear me if I got upset.  That place is cool.  They have music playing, the people working there dance, and 3 people came up to me and told me how cute I am -talk about a pick-me-up!

The sun actually came out on Saturday, so we went for a quick ride around the lake.  I even went for a little walk with mommy and daddy.  It was so nice to get outside again.  Oh, for those of you who haven't visited us before, that isn't our house in the background :)

Family Portrait

Remember how I was having trouble rolling from my tummy back onto my back?  Well, those days are behind us now.  I can roll over and do a complete circle.

Sunday afternoon, I went on my first trip to the zoo.  Since it's still chilly out, we just went to the indoor part of it.  Let me say this, the zoo is awesome!!

Butterflies!

Some day, I'll be has big as this penguin.
Check this out daddy!

I can't wait to go to the zoo when it's nice out and see more animals.

Hey Auntie Karen and Uncle Bret have fun in VEGAS baby!!!!  If you find yourself strolling by a roulette table my lucky number is 23.  If you win big, remember my birthday is in September :)

Talk to you again soon,

5 Months Old

Hi everyone!!!  On Tuesday I turned 5 months old!!  Mommy has had plants that didn't last that long ;)

We're really getting tired of winter here and can't wait for spring to come.  It's been so long since I enjoyed an nice stroll around the neighborhood that I can hardly remember what it's like.

Check-out my rosy cheeks, is that because I have tooth coming??  I've been waiting for one, maybe now is my time.

Working on my blog....

"Dad, I've got a deadline here, let me work!"

Break time, have to dance with daddy.  "...Sweet Caroline, bump bump bump...."   Can't go wrong with Neil Diamond for a fussy baby.

I've been a rolling over machine lately.  Sometimes I can rollback over on my back, but most of the time I get stuck on my tummy -that makes me so mad.

Talk to everyone soon,

Baby Olympics

We had a pretty good weekend.  Saturday we picked up a pack-and-play from mommy's friend Faye.  With that in the car, we'll be able to stop and sleep where ever the open road may take us.

I'm over my cold now, thankfully and I'm doing a better job at sleeping through the night.  I still have to check and make sure that mommy and daddy can hear me every now and then, but they don't seem to mind.

On Tuesday I'll turn 5 months old!!!  Man, where has the time gone???

In honor of the Winter Olympics that are currently underway, I held my own baby Olympics.  Here's a run down of some of the "sports".

 The rings:

Giggling for no Real Reason:

Baby-Kitty Starring Contest:
Elvis Look-a-Like Contest:

Snuggling with your daddy:

Push-Ups:
Just being adorable:
Bottle Races

And the medal goes to....

I can't wait until the Summer Games!

Lots of New Stuff

Hello everyone. I've had a busy couple of days here. Sunday was Valentine's day, soooo much fun. Thanks for all the cards Grandmas! Daddy got me a toy kitten to play with, it meows!! He figured that since my real kitty won't come near me, he better get me one that I can play with.

Look at what I can do now, well sometimes.
I just started sitting up on my own, though only for a few seconds. Here is what I look like when I get bored with sitting up.
"I'm falling!!"
I've really mastered this rolling over thing.  Now, I can roll to both sides.  Rolling back over is still a challenge, I hate it when I get stuck on my tummy!

Mommy bought me a seat so that I can join the family at the dinner table. It's really pretty cool, now I can see what's going on and mommy doesn't have to eat with me on her lap.
Don't I just look happy in my new chair?? :)

Look what mommy taught me!

Good night everyone,

Kaitlyn

Valentine's Week Continues

Friday at work we had a Valentine's Day Party, it was so much fun.  We passed out cards, I made mommy and daddy a card.  Since we can't eat chocolate yet, one of my buddies passed out jars of bananas -baby style!  I can't wait to sink my teeth into that -oh that's right, my "gums into that".  I even dressed up for the party, I wore my heart jumper.  Speaking of what I was wearing, mommy I went all out to show my Valentine's Day spirit this week.

Friday night we went to this place called "the mall".  Oh my, that place is awesome!!  There were so many people to watch, kids running around, music....I have to get back to that place.  There were even puppies there! I'd never seen a puppy before, and sorry kitty but I must have one.  They were so cute and fluffy, I wish we would have had the camera with us.

Thanks so much for my bib Aunt Karen, I just love it!!

Time to get back to my jumper.  Hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Week

Hello everybody.  How's everyone doing?

Me and daddy watched the big game on Sunday, it was my first Super Bowl.  I sure didn't think the Saints would pull it off.  I really liked watching the commercials, especially the ones with the babies in them. My favorite one

Since my first Valentine's Day is coming up, mommy has decided to dress me in hearts everyday.  I think she can pull it off!

At work, we're having a Valentine's Day party on Friday.  Tonight I started signing my cards to give to the other kids, it will be so much fun!

I'm really getting the hang of this rolling over thing that I learned last week.  As soon as I get on the floor, I start to roll over.  It's sooooo much fun.

Talk to everyone soon,

Kaitlyn

Big Milestone

It's been a few days since my last update because I've been busy taking care of mommy and daddy. Both of them have been sick the past few days and had to miss some work. Man, I thought I was a handful to take care of but when those two aren't feeling well they're a lot of work!!

Today, I overheard mommy and daddy talking about when I should be able to roll over. So, guess what I did by myself, I rolled over!!  Mommy and daddy are so excited for me.  Watch out crawling, you're next!

I'd better get back to taking care of my folks, but here is a little video of how I entertained mommy and daddy while they weren't feeling well today.

4 Month Check-Up

Hi everybody.

Yesterday I had my 4 month check-up with Dr. Moore.  Everything turned out just great and I only cried for a little bit when I got my shots.  Dr. Moore said that in a few weeks, I can start to eat some real food!!  I'm voting for pizza.

I weighed in at 15 lbs 2.5 oz, which puts me at the 77th percentile for my age.  The shocker was that my height, 26.75" puts me at the 99th percentile for 4 month olds.  If I keep growing at this rate, I'm going to be super tall!  Daddy, you'd better get my that basketball hoop so that I can start working on my game :)

"the weigh in"

Another shock that daddy and grandma spotted this weekend is that I have some dimples hiding in my cheeks.  I don't get it, but both mommy and daddy think it's pretty cool.

Yesterday was mommy's birthday, though it wasn't her favorite one ever.  She was pretty sick last night so me and daddy had to take care of her.  Thankfully mommy is starting to feel better now.

Talk to you all soon,
Kaitlyn
