Made it home

We made it home from our Christmas trip yesterday (Sunday).  It was slow going as the roads were kind of slick -I couldn't watch, so I shut my eyes and slept most of the way.  We were in for a shock when we got home, check out our driveway after 3 hours of shoveling!!

I could be wrong, but I thought we had a two car driveway daddy, get back out there!!  I thought it snowed a lot in South Dakota, but look at all of that snow.

Mommy and I gave daddy the day off today, he went fishing with his friend Paul.  They didn't have much luck though.  Daddy took a few pictures of his trip, kind of a neat area.

Guess what I've done the last 6 nights in a row -I've slept all the way until morning.  Could I be turning a corner or was it just that good South Dakota air???

I've been chewing on my fingers a lot lately and look how red my cheeks are.   Mommy read in her book that it's a sign of teething!!

Have a great day everybody,

Kaitlyn

My First Christmas

Yesteray I celebrated my very first Christmas.  It was everything that I could have imagined and more!!

We didn't know if we were all going to be able to get togetther at first because the weather was getting really bad.

Grandpa Terry and daddy had to run the snowblower to clear a path for everyone.  Brrr, it's too cold out there for me!!!

On Christmas Eve, aunt Karen's family & aunt Kathy's family braved the elements and came to grandma Judy & grandpa Terry's for dinner and to open presents.  It was so much fun.  Just wait until next year when I'm mobile and can open the presents all by myself!!

Look at the cool John Deere shirt aunt Karen got me!!  Now I can help out on the farm!!

Me with aunt Kathy and my new doll.

I had a gift for everyone else that I saved until the end.  I started to roll over!!  OK, I may not have rolled over all of the way, but it's a start :)
On Christmas day....

Grandma's beautiful tree

Santa came!!!

I had to go get daddy so he could see that Santa was here!!

After all of that excitement I started to get fussy and grandma & grandpa had to try to entertain me.
Grandpa and I are going to start a band!!

Grandma has me ready for Sturgis!

The day after Christmas was grandpa Terry's birthday.  We had planned on going back to Omaha, but the interstate was closed all morning because of the storm.  The weather started to get better, so we went to aunt Karen's for grandpa's birthday.  Liz has a Wii, that looks awesome!!  Watch Kayla go!

Thanks everyone for the great gifts. Most imortantly though, it was nice to be able to see everyone again.  And thanks grandma & grandpa for letting me stay two extra days!!

Merry Christmas everyone,

Kaitlyn

The Christmas Blizzard

Hello everyone.  I hope that everyone who is traveling for Christmas was able to make it to their destination in this snow storm.  Mommy and daddy didn't take any chances, we left a day early for South Dakota.

Before we left for grandma's, we had our own little Christmas in Omaha.  Look at this lady bug doll that I got!  Does it remind you of anything??

Even the kitty got in on the action!

We headed for South Dakota in advace of the storm and arrived without any problems.  I have to tell you though, riding in a car seat for 300 miles in not my idea of a good time.

I'm inspecting the presents at grandma and grandpas!

Look what grandma won (it may find it's way in to my bag before we leave).

We got a few inches of snow last night, but the big stuff is suppose to come tonight.  If we're trapped by the snow, I can't think of a better place to be stuck than at grandma and grandpa's!

Mommy and daddy wish everyone a safe and merry Christmas.

Weekend Update

Hello everyone!  It's been a few days since I have posted anything new, sorry about that.

Last week mommy and I went to Mommy and Me class.  I weighed in at 13 lbs!  I'm getting so big -and daddy and mommy are getting so strong from carrying me around.  We also visited our friend Lori from down the street, that was a blast.  There were a bunch of other kids there too, I just loved watching them run around and can't wait until I can run with them.

When I'm not on the go, one of my favorite things to do is to play with my stuffed animals.
Me and my monkey

Me with my soft SDSU Jackrabbit

Look what I found on our Christmas tree.  I can't wait until I can bite into one of these!

Think I could pass for santa??

On Saturday, I had my first non-relative babysitter.  Mommy and daddy were going to a Christmas party so Michelle came over to watch me for a few hours.  We played, read some books and just had a great time.  Thanks so much Michelle!

Sunday was Christmas cookie day.  Mommy wanted to make sure I could see what she was doing, so I rode around in the baby wrap for a bird's eye view.

I'm supervising Frank, have to make sure the cookies are perfect.

Perfection!!  Now if I only had teeth.....

After all of this activity, this little girl needs her rest.

Good night,

Kaitlyn

Vintage

This little dress is one that my mommy wore when she was a little girl.  I had to wear it this week 'cause mommy doesn't know how much longer I'll fit into it.  This week I had to get bigger socks, the newborn one's don't fit any more!!

Here I am getting some time with my activity mat, I just can't get enough of it.  I love to grab and pull on all of the little toys.  It's really fun to try and pull myself up off of the floor.

Here's daddy trying to keep me from fussing.  I go along with it for a few minutes just to make him happy.

Remember, only 10 more days until my 1st Christmas!!  I'm practicing waiting up for you Santa!!

Gotta go watch the news -I wonder what Tiger did now

Christmas Program

This weekend was the big Christmas program at church, I was baby Jesus.  Mommy & daddy were pretty nervous for me, but it went off without any incidents.  All of the kids did such a great job, it was a lot of fun to be able to be in the program with them.  On stage I only started to fuss one time, but "Mary" was able to calm me down with a bottle.

Me with Mary & Joseph

The Cast

Grandpa Terry, Grandma Judy, Mommy,me & Daddy after the program.

Thanks to everyone at Maplewood for letting me be in the program.  And a big hug to grandma and grandpa for driving all the way down to see me!!

Grandma Judy thought she was taking me home with her!  I was all for it, but I don't know if daddy and mommy could handle me being away from them.

On Saturday we went to go see Santa.  It was the first time I've seen him, how exciting!!

What a busy weekend!

Peek-a-boo

Peek-a-boo I see you!!

Hi everyone!  How have you been?  We've been pretty busy here -shoveling all the snow after the storm and getting ready for Christmas.  I've been working so hard that last night I slept until 7:30 am!  Daddy even had to come and see if I was OK before he left for work.  I just told him that I was getting my rest for the weekend ;)

Today, mommy and I went to the grocery store and picked up some pictures that we had ordered.  I'll give you one guess on who is in almost every single shot -that would be me!!

Grandma Judy and Grandpa Terry are coming down this weekend to see me make my theatrical debut.  I'm going to be baby Jesus in the Christmas program at church.  It's suppose to be a non-speaking role, but I may ad lib a bit depending on how I feel.

I'd better get back to supervising mommy and daddy.

Blizzard of 2009!!

Yesterday and today I experienced my first blizzard.  The wind was blowing and we got 12" of snow.  I can honestly say that I've never seen such bad weather before!!  Nobody could drive down our street until this afternoon when the plow came thru.  That didn't stop people from trying though, a couple of cars got stuck just outside of our house.

Me and mommy have been busy wrapping presents the past few days.  It's hard work!!

Better get back to my swing,

Kaitlyn

Weekend Update

Hello everyone.  How was your weekend?  Mine was pretty busy.  On Saturday, mommy and I went Christmas shopping.  The mall was a zoo (not that I've ever been to a zoo, but that's a different story)!  We're almost done Christmas shopping now, just a few more items to pick up.

Saturday evening we went to a progressive dinner with some friends from church.  I had never been to that kind of dinner -where you go to one person's house for appetizers, then another house for the main meal, followed by a different house for dessert.  It was fun, I slept at every house!

Reading the paper on Sunday morning.

Check out me and my monkey!!

This morning it snowed!!!  I can't wait until I'm big enough to go play in the snow.

I wouldn't have believed this if I hadn't seen it for myself.  When daddy got home from work today, mommy volunteered to shovel the driveway!!  I think she knows that if she shovels the 2" of snow we got this morning, then it will be daddy's turn when the big snow comes.  She's a sharp one ;)

Mommy and I in our pink shirts and tan pants.  It's like we're twins :)

Good night,

a HUGE milestone!!!

Howdy partners.  Guess what I did last night....I slept from 10:30pm until 6:00am!!!  Mommy and daddy were so happy for me.  Though honestly, the first thing that mommy said when daddy got up is "is she still breathing?!?!?".  I'm not sure if I'll sleep thru the night tonight, I might miss something.

Today mommy gave me a bath before we went to the grocery store.  Here is me in my little ducky bathrobe.

This evening, we got back to work on the Christmas tree.  It was a lot of work, so I had to help out.  Here I am telling mommy where to put the ornaments.

The kitty had to make a few adjustments too.

A quick final inspection...

Time for the star daddy!!!!

I've really started to grab on to things lately.  I don't care if it is a toy or the drawstrings on daddy's sweatshirt.  If I can reach it, I'm going to grab it!!

Have a good night everyone,

Kaitlyn
