On Thursday I celebrated my first birthday! What a great day. It started off normal but then I heard them say my name on TV! Mommy and daddy sent my picture in to be read on the morning news and there I was. How cool is that?!?! Here I am on TV
We had a birthday party at work with party hats and cupcakes, mommy and daddy even came to help us celebrate.
Thursday was my last day in the bunny room at work, next week I'll move into the kitten room. I had to say goodbye to my fellow bunnies, which is no fun but some of my older friends are in the kitten room now so the old gang will be back together!
Mommy and daddy took the rest of my birthday off from work so we were able to go home and play. What a great birthday present.
On Friday, grandma Judy & grandpa Terry came down for a long weekend. We played and read stories, what a great surprise.
Saturday, Aunt Kathy, Uncle Brian and cousins Kayla, Connor & Adam came down. We were all excited to watch the football game between Nebraska and South Dakota State (were daddy, Brian & Aunt Karen went to school).
Me and Adam wore our Jacks gear to cheer them on. SDSU played a tough game, but the Jackrabbits lost :(
I thought it had been a fun and busy couple of days, but they didn't compare at all to Sunday. That's when my big party was held. Uncle Dave, cousin Jordan and grandma Mary came over and then aunt Karen, uncle Bret and cousin Queen Liz came. Mommy & daddy's friend Frank came up to wish me a happy birthday too. What a full house we had!
Before the party started, me and grandma Judy had to make sure the decorations were just right.
For my big party, we made ice-cream. Way to churn Connor, Adam and Jordan!
Once the ice-cream was ready, it was time for lunch!
After lunch, it was time to open presents!!! I could get use to this!
"oooohhhhhhhh"
"What do we have here???"
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, out comes a cake just for me!!!"Mmmmmm"
While everyone was finishing their cake, I read them my new storybook in my new rocking chair.
After cake, uncle Dave and I had tea.
Frank and I read some more stories.
Cousin Liz told me what it's like to be homecoming queen!
It was time to dance with cousin Jordan!
"Rmmm Rmmm" Grandpa Terry is telling me what it's like to hit the open road on his Harley. Can't wait for a ride.....
"Thanks grandma Mary for my tea set!"
Kayla and I needed to take a little break from all of the excitement.
"Connor, I don't think that hat is going to fit you."
Thanks for coming down everybody.
And to the camera shy DeJongs :)
Thanks everyone for making this my best birthday ever!!
Love Kaitlyn.
